I'm a last minute kind of girl, so three days before Mother's Day is the perfect time to start thinking about a handmade Mother's Day card for my mom. And I'm sharing the love with YOUR mom with a free SVG cutting file download below.
I'm a big fan of the watercolor trend and I've been pinning like crazy on my Watercolor Cards Pinterest Board. I thought I'd try something different this time and I used some Heidi Swapp Color Shine and a waterbrush to create the watercolor look on my letters.
I took off the lid of the Color Shine and dipped the brush directly into the jar. I started by painting the bottom of each letter with the Color Shine and then brushed upward to the top of the letter while squeezing some water out of the brush as I went. I should mention that I used water color paper to cut out my letters for this technique, which allowed the colors and water to soak in.
I love the way these turned out and I hope you'll give it a try too. If you're intimidated by the watercolor or don't own any Color Shine (which would be a travesty), you can make a simpler version of this card by cutting the letters from shiny glitter paper as well.
